The "TURBOFILMSIZER" or, Film Press is able to apply Starch, Pigments, speciality chemicals or water on both paper sides.
Depending on the liquor formulation a starch film between 0.15 – 4 g/m2 (each side), with a solid content of up to 15 % can be applied. For coating pigments a film between 2 – 15 g/m2 with a solid content of 20 – 68 % to each paper side is possible to apply.
The major benefits of the Film Press versus the conventional Size Press is the significant lower rewetting of the paper, which finally results in lower energy consumption in the post-dryer-section and a much more even distribution of the liquor. Furthermore the Film Press allows applying different formulations to each side of the paper. That is an important tool for the paper maker to adopt the production to the quality requirements.
